Our Story

It started with a label. I was reading the back of a candle I'd burned for years and realised I had no idea what was actually in it. A little research later, and I was genuinely shocked — many mass-produced candles are made with paraffin wax, synthetic fragrances, and wicks laced with chemicals that release toxins into the air you breathe at home every single day.

I'm Salma, and that discovery changed everything for me. If I was going to fill my home with candlelight — and I absolutely was — I wanted to know exactly what I was burning. So I started making my own.

"What began as a personal mission to find a cleaner burn turned into something I couldn't stop. I fell completely in love with the craft."

From my home in Luxembourg, I began experimenting with natural waxes, testing blends, learning the art of the pour. I developed my own bespoke blend of soy wax and beeswax — chosen not just for their clean burn, but because beeswax actually helps purify the air as it burns. Every candle is hand-poured in small batches, with pure cotton wicks and non-toxic natural dyes. No shortcuts, no fillers, no compromises.

What started as a hobby quietly became The Ome Store, born in April 2021. The name is a nod to the place these candles are made for — your (h)ome. Your sanctuary. The space that should feel and smell exactly the way you want it to.

One thing I always say: these candles are made to be burned. Not displayed on a shelf, not saved for a special occasion. Life is too short to keep the beautiful candle in a box. Light it. Enjoy it. Fill your home with something that's as good for you as it is beautiful.
